What can you do to help?

I’m raising a total of US$150,000, starting with $10,000 of my own money to seed the fund. In addition, I’ll be donating 5 months of my own unpaid time to direct the project. But I can’t do it all on my own. Please help me in the following 3 ways:

1. Make a donation!  Here is what your gift will provide:

  • $4,200      will build an entire home to accommodate a family of up to 6 people
  • $1,000      is enough to construct a kitchen with a sink, oven, and stove
  • $500         outfits a bathroom with a sink, toilet, and shower
  • $100         supplies a complete roof to keep out the torrential tropical rains
  • $50           purchases a large window to keep out flies and disease
  • $20           hires a skilled electrician and plumber for the day

Where else can such a relatively small donation have such a huge impact?

Your generous donation will go directly to Habitat for Humanity, which has created a special account for this project. 100% of your gift will go toward paying for building supplies and skilled labor. Your contribution is 100% tax-deductible and you will receive an official IRS receipt directly from Habitat for Humanity.

You can also mail a physical check to:

If you mail a physical check please email me and let me know ahead of time since I'm keeping a close audit on the funds!

Dave,

What a wonderful project. I've always been a fan of Habitat for Humanity. I've donated $100 toward your cause and will do more when I can

Hi Dave,

I wish I was there to lend you a hand. Infortunately, family obligations and young child is preventing me to do just that. My Partner Sabine volutered for Doctors without borders in Guatamala for 8 months. She has better understanding of what you are doing. We applaude you for your effort.

Dave,
As a Colombian who has lived in the US for over 25 years, I am humbled and amazed by your endeavor. It is very inspiring to know that a "gringo" who happened to fall in love with the country, can singlehandedly make such an incredible contribution in a place so desperately in need of it.
Hats off to you and Thank you, not only for your humanitarian efforts, but also for for the kind words about Colombia and its people. It is indeed a wonderful country!

Hello
We talked a little time (unfotunally) in Bogota, and I ve just check this page... I would like to say to you many things butI just can say that I really admire you ...the world need more people like you, thanks a lot for you help with Colombian people.

Who could have known that that little 5th grade kid who sat next to me in class, always drawing cartoons, would one day turn into a SuperHero himself and help change the world? Thanks Dave, for being who you are & sharing it with me for the last 30 years.

Dave...
I happened upon your site totally by accident...

Rich Plunkett
